You have probably recognized the recent entries in the ImageJ listserver about the AWT versus Swing GUI. I find it an excellent and fair minded discussion of ImageJ development issues.
I would like to know how our project relates to the issues that are discussed on the ImageJ listserver under the subject "ImageJ development involvement/contributions" and "Potential solution for conversion from AWT to Swing".
If I understand correctly, our efforts are, at least at first, focused not on the GUI but modifying the data model and other internal workings of ImageJ. Where do we stand on this?

Replying to the mailing lists
I agree that we should address these questions publicly. The timing with ASCB is unfortunate, but I am planning on sending a detailed reply soon to the ImageJ and ImageJX lists outlining my perspective on the project and how it fits in with other, related efforts.
Previously, I was waiting until we met in person with both Wayne Rasband and the Fiji group, but it seems there is enough confusion and uncertainty that it would be best for us not to wait on our reply.
During my flight I drafted some text to add to this site, and will be doing so over the next couple of days. And I will try to reply either today or tomorrow to the mailing lists as well.
